HOW ADVANTAGE PHYSICAL THERAPY CAN HELP

For those experiencing peripheral neuropathy, physical therapy can improve strength, increase balance and improve mobility. Strength training, proprioceptive training and functional activities will help you to safely continue your normal routine. In addition, our therapists will provide education on proper foot wear, foot inspection and foot care. For those experiencing Peripheral Arterial Disease, exercises that address aerobic conditioning, strength and flexibility can help increase your walking tolerance and decrease leg pain. Exercise also helps to improve circulation. Exercise including cardiovascular conditioning and low impact weight training can help to control blood pressure and help to regulate blood glucose for those with Type II Diabetes. Your therapist will design a safely monitored exercise program.
