Job Description:
Advantage Physical Therapy is seeking a passionate and skilled Occupational Therapist who thrives in a warm and friendly environment and possesses expertise in working with older adults and geriatric patients. Asan Occupational Therapist with us, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our patients while working collaboratively with a dedicated team of professionals.
This position will lead a new division of our practice as Director of Occupational services. An ideal candidate will have experience with administration/ management and feels comfortable growing a team and working in a start- up environment.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
1. Evaluate, plan, and implement individualized occupational therapy programs across the lifespan to improve their daily functioning and quality of life.
2. Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify patients' needs, develop treatment plans, and set achievable goals.
3. Provide therapeutic interventions and activities to improve mobility, strength, fine motor skills, and cognitive abilities.
4. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including physical therapists, speech therapists, and healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
5. Document patient progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers.
6. Stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques in occupational therapy.
7. Foster a warm and welcoming environment that promotes patient comfort and trust.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Active NY state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Strong passion for working with older adults and geriatric patients.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
